Vacuum filter is a kind of equipment that realizes solid-liquid separation with vacuum negative pressure as driving force, and it is one of the important equipments that realizes solid-liquid separation with driving force, and its structure filtration section is arranged along the horizontal length direction, and it can continuously complete the operations of filtration, washing, sucking dry, and regeneration of filter cloth. At present, it is widely used in: thermoelectricity, chemical industry, building materials, papermaking, pharmacy, rubber, smelting, food and other fields. So, what determines the working efficiency of vacuum filter?
I. Reasons affecting the filtration of vacuum filter:
1. The filter cloth should be placed flat and cleaned in time to keep the filter cloth clean to increase the filtering area.
2. Impurities will affect the filtration speed, which can be considered from the temperature, material density and solid particle shape.
3. When the filtration range reaches a certain value, the pressure difference will increase, and the filtration flow rate will become faster and faster, resulting in increasing filtration efficiency. Therefore, appropriate adjustment and increase of pressure is also one of the methods to improve efficiency.
II. Tips for improving the filtering speed of the filter:
1. When the solid particles in the suspension are large. When the particle size is uniform, the pores of the filtrate layer are relatively smooth, and the filtrate passes through the filtrate layer at a higher speed. Therefore, fine particles can be integrated into large blocks (coagulant is required), which is conducive to increasing the filtration rate.
2. For the suspension of solid particles with fast settling speed, the filter is applied to the upper part of the filtration medium to be charged, so that the direction of filtration is the same as the direction of gravity, and the coarse particles are preferred to settle, reducing the clogging of the filtration medium and the filtrate slag layer; when the filtrate has a high viscosity, the suspension can be heated to reduce the viscosity; some difficult to filter the suspension (e.g., colloidal) and diatomaceous earth mixed. Thicker solid particles such as expanded perlite can loosen the filtrate layer.
The above is one of the methods to speed up the filtration speed, but in order to improve the filtration speed of vacuum filter, we can't do some modification of the equipment to avoid unnecessary trouble.
