Precautions for Magnetic Pumps

Release Date:2024-07-10 17:23 Views:985

Magnetic pumps require attention to a number of aspects during use to ensure proper operation, extend service life and ensure operational safety. The following are some key considerations:

First, the medium and impurity control

  Avoid the entry of impurities:

Do not allow ferromagnetic impurities, particles into the magnetic actuator and bearing friction vice, so as not to damage the equipment.

When conveying media containing solid particles, a strainer should be installed at the entrance of the pump flow pipe to prevent particles from entering the pump.

  Flush in time:

After conveying the medium that is easy to crystallize or precipitate, flush the pump cavity in time, fill the pump cavity with water after stopping the pump, and discharge it cleanly after running for 1 minute to guarantee the service life of the sliding bearings.

  Second, temperature and pressure control

  Temperature control:

The magnetic pump should be operated under the specified temperature conditions, and it is strictly prohibited for the medium temperature to exceed the standard.

Platinum resistance temperature sensors can be installed on the outer surface of the isolation sleeve of the magnetic pump to detect the temperature rise in the ring gap area so as to alarm or shut down when the temperature exceeds the limit.

The operating temperature of plastic pumps should generally be less than 60℃, and the operating temperature of metal pumps should be less than 350℃.

  Pressure control:

The working pressure of the magnetic pump should be within the permissible range of the pump material, and the maximum working pressure is generally not more than 1.6Mpa.

  Third, operation and maintenance

  Prohibit idling:

It is absolutely forbidden to idle the magnetic pump, because the cooling and lubrication of the bearings of the magnetic pump rely on the medium being conveyed, and idling will lead to damage of the bearings.

  Starting and stopping:

Before starting the magnetic pump, make sure that the inlet and outlet channels of the pump are clear to avoid idling and dry running.

Before stopping the magnetic pump, the discharge valve should be closed first, and then the suction pipe valve should be closed to ensure that the pump stops running before disconnecting the power supply.

  Installation and maintenance:

The magnetic pump should be installed horizontally, not vertically, and the plastic pump body should not bear the weight of the pipeline.

Clean and maintain the magnetic pump regularly, such as cleaning the pump inlet and outlet pipes, checking the sealing parts of the pump, etc., to keep the pump running normally and prolong its service life.

  Environment and safety:

The ambient temperature of the magnetic pump should be less than 40℃, and the temperature rise of the motor should not exceed 75℃.

When operating the magnetic pump, pay attention to personal safety, avoid contacting the rotating parts and high-temperature parts of the pump, and wear personal protective equipment if necessary.

  IV. Special Precautions

  Avoid cavitation:

Cavitation is a common cause of magnetic pump failure, mainly caused by the pump inlet pipe resistance, more gas phase of the transport medium, insufficient irrigation pump, pump inlet energy head is not enough. Cavitation can cause the pump to vibrate violently and damage the bearings, rotor or impeller. Therefore, measures should be taken to avoid the occurrence of cavitation.

Prevent damage to the isolation sleeve:

The magnetic coupling of the magnetic pump is cooled by the medium conveyed by the pump, and if there are hard particles in the medium, it is easy to cause the isolation sleeve to be scratched or scratched through. Therefore, it should be ensured that there are no hard particles in the medium, and the wear of the isolation sleeve should be checked regularly.

  Magnetic torque design:

The magnetic torque must not be designed too small to ensure that the magnetic pump can transfer torque normally and operate stably.

In summary, the use of magnetic pumps need to pay attention to a number of aspects such as media and impurity control, temperature and pressure control, operation and maintenance, and special precautions. By following these precautions, you can better use the magnetic pump, extend its service life, improve work efficiency, and ensure the safety of operators.
